Home › AML / KYC Policy

This Anti-Money Laundering and Know Your Customer Policy ("Policy") applies to all players who register and transact on betsoranje.nl, operated by JACO V.I.P. LIMITADA, a company incorporated in Costa Rica. The Policy has been in effect since September 2025 and sets out betoranje's obligations, procedures, and player responsibilities with respect to identity verification, source-of-funds assessment, transaction monitoring, and the prevention of financial crime. By creating an account and using the platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to comply with this Policy in its entirety.

1. Introduction and Purpose

betoranje is committed to conducting its business with integrity and to protecting the platform from being used as a vehicle for money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, or any other financial crime. The purpose of this Policy is to:

  • Establish clear standards for verifying the identity of every player who registers at betsoranje.nl;
  • Define the circumstances under which enhanced due diligence is required;
  • Describe how betoranje monitors transactions for suspicious patterns;
  • Explain what information and documentation players may be asked to provide, and when;
  • Set out the consequences of failing to provide requested documentation in a timely manner;
  • Ensure that betoranje operates transparently and responsibly in line with internationally recognised AML and KYC standards.

This Policy applies to all accounts, regardless of the currency used — including EUR, CAD, NOK, PLN, AUD, BTC, USDT, and any other currency accepted in the betoranje cashier — and to all deposit and withdrawal methods available on the platform, including cards, e-wallets, bank transfers, Bitcoin, and USDT.

2. Regulatory Framework and Governing Principles

betoranje is operated by JACO V.I.P. LIMITADA under operator-governed terms applicable from Costa Rica. Whilst the platform operates under its own governance framework, betoranje voluntarily adopts the principles of internationally recognised AML and counter-terrorist financing ("CTF") standards, including the recommendations issued by the Financial Action Task Force ("FATF"), as a baseline for its compliance programme. This Policy is reviewed and updated on a regular basis to reflect changes in the regulatory environment, emerging financial crime typologies, and operational developments on betsoranje.nl.

3. Definitions

  • AML — Anti-Money Laundering: the body of laws, regulations, and procedures designed to prevent the disguising of illegally obtained funds as legitimate income.
  • KYC — Know Your Customer: the process by which betoranje verifies the identity of its players and assesses the risk they may pose.
  • CDD — Customer Due Diligence: the standard set of identity and verification checks applied to all players.
  • EDD — Enhanced Due Diligence: additional checks applied where a player or transaction presents a higher risk profile.
  • PEP — Politically Exposed Person: an individual who holds, or has held within the past twelve months, a prominent public position, or who is a close associate or family member of such a person.
  • SAR — Suspicious Activity Report: an internal report filed when a transaction or behaviour raises concern about potential financial crime.
  • SOF — Source of Funds: the origin of the money used by a player to fund their account on betsoranje.nl.
  • SOW — Source of Wealth: the broader origin of a player's overall financial assets.
  • MLRO — Money Laundering Reporting Officer: the designated senior individual at betoranje responsible for overseeing AML compliance.

4. Risk-Based Approach

betoranje applies a risk-based approach to AML and KYC compliance. This means that the level of scrutiny applied to any given player or transaction is proportionate to the risk that player or transaction presents. Risk factors considered include, but are not limited to:

  • The player's country of residence or nationality;
  • The deposit and withdrawal methods used and the currencies transacted in;
  • The volume, frequency, and value of transactions;
  • Whether the player is identified as a PEP or is associated with a PEP;
  • Whether the player's activity is consistent with their stated profile;
  • Whether the player has been flagged by any internal or external screening tool;
  • The use of cryptocurrency — Bitcoin or USDT — particularly at or near the upper daily limits of €75,000 or monthly limits of €250,000 available in the betoranje cashier.

Higher-risk players will be subject to Enhanced Due Diligence as described in Section 7 of this Policy. betoranje reserves the right to adjust a player's risk rating at any time based on new information or observed behaviour.

5. Customer Due Diligence — Standard Verification

5.1 When CDD is Triggered

Standard Customer Due Diligence is initiated in the following circumstances:

  • Upon registration of a new player account at betsoranje.nl;
  • Before processing a withdrawal request;
  • When cumulative deposits or withdrawals reach internal thresholds defined by betoranje's compliance team;
  • When a player's transaction pattern changes materially from their established profile;
  • At any point where betoranje has reason to doubt the accuracy of previously provided information.

5.2 Standard Identity Documents Required

As part of the standard CDD process, players may be required to provide one or more of the following:

  • Proof of Identity (POI): A valid government-issued photo ID — passport, national identity card, or driving licence. The document must be current, fully legible, and show the player's full name, date of birth, and photograph.
  • Proof of Address (POA): A recent document — dated within the last three months — confirming the player's residential address. Acceptable documents include a utility bill, bank statement, council tax statement, or official government correspondence. The address must match the one registered on the player's betoranje account.
  • Proof of Payment Method: Where a payment method is used to deposit or withdraw, betoranje may request confirmation that the method belongs to the account holder. For cards, this may include a copy of the card showing the last four digits and the cardholder name. For e-wallets such as Skrill or Neteller, a screenshot of the account dashboard confirming ownership may be requested. For cryptocurrency wallets, confirmation of wallet ownership may be required.
  • Selfie Verification: A photograph of the player holding their identity document alongside a handwritten note confirming the date and the platform name (betsoranje.nl) may be requested to confirm that the document belongs to the individual submitting it.

5.3 Verification of Age

betoranje does not permit individuals under the age of 18 to register or play on betsoranje.nl. Age verification is a mandatory component of the CDD process. Where there is any doubt about a player's age, betoranje will suspend access to gaming and withdrawal functionality until satisfactory proof of age has been provided. Any winnings accrued by a player subsequently found to be underage will be forfeited.

5.4 Timing and Account Restrictions

Whilst betoranje may allow a player to begin playing before full verification is complete, certain functions — most notably withdrawals — will not be processed until the required KYC documentation has been reviewed and approved. betoranje reserves the right to limit deposits, restrict gameplay, or suspend an account entirely pending completion of verification. Where a player fails to provide the requested documentation within a reasonable timeframe, betoranje may close the account and return any undisputed, unbonus-affected funds in accordance with its terms and conditions.

6. Ongoing Monitoring

KYC is not a one-time exercise. betoranje continuously monitors player activity throughout the lifecycle of each account. Ongoing monitoring includes:

  • Review of deposit and withdrawal patterns against the player's stated profile and historical behaviour;
  • Scrutiny of large or unusual transactions — for instance, card deposits approaching the €1,000 per-transaction or €10,000 daily ceiling, or cryptocurrency deposits approaching the €75,000 daily cap;
  • Assessment of withdrawal requests — particularly those approaching the €15,000 daily fiat ceiling, the €50,000 monthly instalment threshold for large wins, or the unlimited daily ceiling available to Legend VIP members;
  • Monitoring of bonus utilisation for patterns inconsistent with genuine recreational play;
  • Periodic re-screening of player data against PEP and sanctions lists;
  • Review triggered by changes to a player's account details, such as a change of payment method or registered address.

Where ongoing monitoring raises concern, the player may be asked to provide additional information or documentation, and their account may be temporarily restricted pending review.

7. Enhanced Due Diligence

7.1 When EDD Applies

Enhanced Due Diligence is applied where a player is assessed as presenting a higher risk. Circumstances that automatically trigger EDD include, but are not limited to:

  • The player is identified as, or appears to be, a Politically Exposed Person or a close associate or family member of a PEP;
  • The player is a national of, or resident in, a high-risk jurisdiction as identified by FATF or other relevant international bodies;
  • The player's cumulative deposits or withdrawals reach elevated internal thresholds, particularly when using cryptocurrency at or near the maximum limits available on betsoranje.nl;
  • Transaction patterns are inconsistent with the player's stated occupation, income, or lifestyle;
  • There are unusual patterns of depositing and withdrawing without significant gaming activity;
  • Multiple payment methods are used in a manner that could indicate structuring.

7.2 EDD Measures

Where EDD is required, betoranje may request any combination of the following, in addition to standard CDD documents:

  • Source of Funds declaration: Written confirmation of the origin of the specific funds deposited on betsoranje.nl, supported by evidence such as recent payslips, bank statements, or confirmation of a business transaction.
  • Source of Wealth declaration: Broader documentation of how the player has accumulated their overall financial assets — for example, evidence of employment history, business ownership, inheritance, investment returns, or property sales.
  • Enhanced identity verification: Additional identity documents or a live video verification call.
  • Professional or financial references: In exceptional cases, a letter from a solicitor, accountant, or regulated financial institution confirming the player's financial standing.
  • PEP declaration: Where a player is identified as a PEP, betoranje will seek senior management approval before establishing or continuing the business relationship, and will apply enhanced ongoing monitoring throughout.

betoranje reserves the right to decline or terminate a business relationship with any player who is unable or unwilling to satisfy EDD requirements, regardless of that player's VIP tier or account history on the platform.

8. Source of Funds and Source of Wealth

The ability to verify the origin of funds used on betsoranje.nl is central to betoranje's AML obligations. The platform accepts deposits in EUR, CAD, NOK, PLN, AUD, BTC, USDT, and additional currencies as listed in the cashier. Regardless of currency, betoranje may request evidence that those funds originate from a legitimate source.

SOF checks are typically triggered when:

  • Cumulative deposits over a defined period exceed internal thresholds;
  • Single cryptocurrency transactions are large in value — noting that the daily crypto deposit ceiling on betsoranje.nl is €75,000 and the monthly ceiling is €250,000;
  • A player requests a withdrawal of a large win — noting that wins above €50,000 are paid in monthly instalments of €50,000 (except progressive jackpots, which pay in full), reflecting the platform's commitment to managing and reviewing significant outflows;
  • Transaction behaviour is otherwise inconsistent with the player's stated profile.

Acceptable evidence of SOF includes recent bank statements, payslips, tax returns, proof of business income, evidence of investment or dividend income, sale of property documentation, or inheritance documentation. betoranje may decline to process a withdrawal and may freeze account funds pending satisfactory SOF review.

9. Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs)

betoranje applies heightened scrutiny to any player who is identified as a Politically Exposed Person, or who is a family member or known close associate of a PEP. A PEP is defined as an individual who holds or has held, within the preceding twelve months, a prominent public function — including heads of state or government, senior politicians, senior government officials, senior judicial or military officials, senior executives of state-owned enterprises, and senior officials of international organisations.

Where a player is identified as a PEP:

  • Senior management approval is required before the business relationship is established or continued;
  • The player is subject to EDD as described in Section 7;
  • Enhanced ongoing monitoring is applied for the duration of the account's lifetime on betsoranje.nl;
  • The source of wealth and source of funds are subject to documentary verification.

Players are required to disclose PEP status at the point of registration. Failure to do so may result in immediate account suspension and reporting to the relevant authorities.

10. Sanctions Screening

betoranje screens all players against applicable international sanctions lists, including those maintained by the United Nations, the European Union, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and the UK's Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI), on an ongoing basis. Where a player is found to be a designated individual or entity, or is resident in a sanctioned jurisdiction, betoranje will take immediate action — including freezing account funds, suspending all account activity, and making any required report to the relevant authorities. betoranje will not conduct business with any sanctioned individual, entity, or jurisdiction.

11. Transaction Monitoring and Suspicious Activity

11.1 Automated and Manual Monitoring

betoranje employs a combination of automated system rules and manual case review to identify transactions and behaviours that may indicate money laundering, fraud, or other financial crime. The monitoring programme covers all deposit and withdrawal activity across all payment methods — cards, e-wallets (Skrill, Neteller), bank transfers, Apple Pay, Bitcoin, and USDT.

11.2 Red Flags

The following behaviours, amongst others, are treated as potential red flags and may trigger a review, a request for documentation, or the filing of a Suspicious Activity Report:

  • Depositing funds and withdrawing them quickly with little or no gaming activity;
  • Multiple deposits in rapid succession that together approach or reach the daily or monthly card or crypto limits set out in the betoranje cashier;
  • Using multiple payment methods in a manner that appears designed to avoid triggering review;
  • Requesting a withdrawal to a different method or wallet from the one used to deposit;
  • A sudden and unexplained increase in deposit volumes inconsistent with the player's historical profile;
  • Providing false, inconsistent, or incomplete identity information;
  • Attempting to use another person's payment method;
  • Claiming large winnings — particularly those triggering the €50,000 monthly instalment payment process — where SOF cannot be established for the deposits that funded play;
  • Patterns of gameplay that appear designed to generate withdrawal requests rather than to participate in genuine recreational gaming.

11.3 Suspicious Activity Reports

Where betoranje's compliance team determines that a transaction or pattern of behaviour is suspicious, the MLRO will be notified and a Suspicious Activity Report will be prepared. betoranje is legally prohibited from disclosing to the player ("tipping off") that a SAR has been filed or that an investigation is under way. Account funds may be frozen during the investigation period. betoranje will cooperate fully with any lawful request from relevant law enforcement or regulatory authorities.

12. Responsible Gambling and AML Alignment

betoranje's responsible gambling framework and its AML programme are complementary. The platform provides players with tools to manage their activity, including deposit limits, loss limits, session time reminders, and self-exclusion options, all accessible through the player account area on betsoranje.nl. These tools serve a dual purpose: they support player welfare and simultaneously help ensure that gaming activity remains consistent with the player's stated financial means.

Where a player's deposit and withdrawal activity suggests that they may be gambling beyond their financial means — or where the pattern of activity is inconsistent with responsible recreational play — betoranje may use this as a basis to initiate a SOF or SOW review in addition to any responsible gambling intervention. Players experiencing difficulties with gambling are encouraged to use the self-exclusion options available on betsoranje.nl and to seek support from recognised gambling support organisations.

13. Payment Method Integrity and the Return-to-Source Rule

betoranje operates a strict return-to-source withdrawal policy. Withdrawals are processed back to the same payment method used to make the original deposit — fiat funds are returned via the original fiat method, and cryptocurrency withdrawals are returned to the wallet associated with the player's account. Fiat and cryptocurrency balances are maintained separately within the cashier. This policy is a key AML control, ensuring that funds cannot be laundered by depositing via one method and withdrawing via another.

Players must ensure that all payment methods registered to their betoranje account are held in their own name. The use of third-party payment methods is strictly prohibited. Where betoranje identifies that a payment has originated from a method not held by the account holder, it will:

  • Suspend the account pending investigation;
  • Return the funds to the originating method where possible;
  • File a SAR where the circumstances indicate potential financial crime;
  • Permanently close the account in cases of confirmed third-party payment use.

14. Player Obligations

By registering and playing at betsoranje.nl, all players agree to the following obligations:

  • To provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date personal information at registration and throughout the lifetime of the account;
  • To promptly provide any documentation requested by betoranje's compliance or support team, accessible via 24/7 live chat or email in English and Dutch;
  • To disclose PEP status, sanctions exposure, or any other circumstances that may affect their risk profile;
  • To use only payment methods held in their own name;
  • To ensure that funds deposited on betsoranje.nl originate from a legitimate, legal source;
  • Not to engage in any activity that may constitute money laundering, fraud, or any other financial crime on or through the betoranje platform.

Failure to meet these obligations may result in account suspension, forfeiture of bonuses and winnings, return of deposits to the originating payment method, and reporting to the relevant authorities.

15. Document Submission and Data Handling

Players may submit KYC documents through the secure document upload facility within their betoranje account, or by sending them via email to the compliance team. betoranje's support team is available 24/7 via live chat and email to assist with document submission queries in both English and Dutch.

All documents submitted are handled in accordance with betoranje's Privacy Policy. Personal data collected as part of the KYC process is used solely for identity verification, AML compliance, and fraud prevention purposes. Documents are stored securely and retained for the period required by applicable legal and regulatory obligations. Players have the right to request information about how their personal data is processed in accordance with applicable data protection law.

16. Consequences of Non-Compliance

betoranje takes AML and KYC compliance seriously and will act decisively where a player fails to comply with this Policy. Consequences may include:

  • Temporary restriction of deposit, withdrawal, or gaming functionality pending completion of verification;
  • Suspension of the player account;
  • Permanent closure of the player account;
  • Forfeiture of bonus funds and any associated winnings where KYC requirements have not been satisfied;
  • Withholding of withdrawals pending satisfactory completion of SOF or SOW review;
  • Return of deposited funds to the original payment method where a business relationship cannot be established;
  • Filing of a Suspicious Activity Report with the relevant authorities.

betoranje will not be liable for any loss suffered by a player as a result of account suspension or restriction arising from the application of this Policy.

17. Internal Controls and Staff Training

betoranje maintains a programme of internal AML controls, including:

  • Appointment of a designated Money Laundering Reporting Officer responsible for overseeing the implementation and effectiveness of this Policy;
  • Regular review and update of this Policy to reflect changes in the risk environment;
  • Training of all relevant staff on AML obligations, red flag indicators, and escalation procedures;
  • Maintenance of records of all CDD and EDD checks, transaction monitoring decisions, and SARs for the legally required retention period;
  • Periodic internal audits of the AML and KYC programme.

18. Policy Review

This AML / KYC Policy is reviewed at least annually, or more frequently where there is a material change in applicable standards, betoranje's business model, or the risk environment. The current version of this Policy applies to all accounts active on betsoranje.nl from the date of publication. Players will be notified of material changes to this Policy in accordance with betoranje's terms and conditions.

19. Contact

If you have any questions about this Policy, or if you wish to submit KYC documentation or enquire about the status of a verification request, please contact the betoranje compliance and support team via:

  • Live Chat: Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, directly from betsoranje.nl — in English and Dutch.
